A Meaningless Life

Alarm Sounds
Another Restless Night Ends

 Feet Hit The Floor
A Rocking Motion Lifts Bulk

 Trod Across The Hardwood
Heavy Footfalls Echo From The Lumber

Bathroom, Shower, Shave
Roused
Eyes Wide Open
Barely Awake

 Coffee
Brisk Morning Air
Skin Shrinks
Early Glare Forces A Smile

Work
Earn Little
Save None

Burned out?
Maybe
Probably

Ten Hours Later
End Of Day
Exhaustion

A Lonely Meal
Wine To Ease The Pain
To Bed, Exhausted

Wallow In Self-Pity
Because No Others Care
I’m Not Sure I Do

Another Sleepless Night
Prelude To Another Meaningless Day
In A Hollow, Cyclic Meaningless Life
