Today I have taken several moments to pause, honor, remember and reflect on my brothers and sisters in arms who made the ultimate sacrifice, some who I knew, most who I did not, and all with whom an unspoken bond is shared.
I am former Navy, my first port visit was Pearl Harbor. It was then I saluted her flag and first set foot above the USS Arizona. About a year later, I ended up stationed on Oahu; allowing many more visits to The Memorial. On Memorial Day, thoughts return there and to those who make their final resting place forever aboard her.
Thank you to all who made the ultimate sacrifice and thank you to those who one day may be called upon to make that same sacrifice.
You are not, nor ever will be, forgotten.
